چکیده

Status of Memo This memo provides information for the Internet community. It does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. Abstract This memo presents two recommendations to the Internet community concerning measures to improve and preserve Internet performance. It presents a strong recommendation for testing, standardization, and widespread deployment of active queue management in routers, to improve the performance of today's Internet. It also urges a concerted effort of research, measurement, and ultimate deployment of router mechanisms to protect the Internet from flows that are not sufficiently responsive to congestion notification.

VRED: An improvement over RED algorithm by using queue length growth velocity

Active Queue Management (AQM) plays an important role in the Internet congestion control. It tries to enhance congestion control, and to achieve tradeoff between bottleneck utilization and delay. Random Early Detection (RED) is the most popular active queue management algorithm that has been implemented in the in Internet routers and is trying to supply low delay and low packet loss. An Empirical Validation of a Duality Model of Tcp and Queue Management Algorithms

In this paper we validate through simulations a duality model of TCP and active queue management (AQM) proposed earlier. In this model, TCP and AQM are modeled as carrying out a distributed primal-dual algorithm over the Internet to maximize aggregate source utility. TCP congestion avoidance algorithms, such as Reno and Vegas, iterate on source rates, the primal variable. AQM algorithms, such a...

Robust 2-DoF PID control for Congestion control of TCP/IP Networks

Internet congestion control and congestion avoidance have been active research interests in the area of networking (see, for example [1] [2] [3]) during the last two decades. It has two components: (1) the end-to-end congestion control protocol, such as TCP [4], and (2) an active queue management (AQM) scheme implemented in routers. AQM signals congestion by discarding or marking packets. When ...
